Read the Play is proud to announce a new partnership with Mindfulness for Sport, a collaboration designed to strengthen mental wellbeing across local sporting communities by combining mental health education with practical mindfulness training.
As part of this partnership, every sporting club that books a Read the Play session during May 2025 will receive free access to Mindfulness for Sport’s specialised online programs—supporting athletes, coaches, and officials (across the whole club) with tools to enhance focus, manage stress, and build resilience.
Mindfulness for Sport delivers evidence-based digital training that is accessible anytime, anywhere—making it a perfect complement to Read the Play’s face-to-face sessions delivered at local clubs.
“This partnership is a powerful way to deepen our impact. By offering both education and mindfulness strategies, we’re helping clubs take a proactive step toward building mentally healthy sporting environments,” said Michelle Gerdtz, General Manager of Read the Play.
Bruce Hultgren (pictured below with Michelle Gerdtz) – Founder of Mindfulness For Sport shares… “We’re proud to stand alongside Read the Play as a resource partner – offering every club member access to practical, on-demand tools that support mental wellbeing, focus, and resilience long after the session ends. This is about lasting impact.”

Read the Play has long been committed to supporting the mental health of young people through sport. This collaboration reinforces that mission by providing clubs with resources that go beyond the session and into everyday routines.
